Climate actions
The action consists of use of natural screens near buildings and especially near south-facing walls and windows. A passive system example is the use of deciduous trees. Thanks to the foliage of the trees, these perform a solar control function in summer since it is possible to reduce the passage of sunlight; while, thanks to the lack of leaves during the winter season, the sun’s rays can reach the walls and windows. With trees, a reduction of heat inside the building is thus obtained in the summer, without causing an increase in heating demand in winter. Climate-proof buildings are more expensive and more difficult to implement and maintain than standard building practices.
